( rika's becoming a bit of a familiar face. yes, she's a little feral, but... well, he can't really fault her, in these circumstances. and besides, she seems to have attached to him, if only just a little bit, when it comes to being someone that she can count on. now, he understands that means he's just a food dispenser, but also... he's not going to just let a fifteen year old starve?
anyway, he's got something for her, and entering the home ec room, she's pretty much the first thing he sees. from what he can tell, she's crouched over something, speaking in a soft voice. it doesn't take him long to figure out what she's doing—he's seen komaeda fussing over these cats enough that he's almost given up on convincing the other to stop feeding them his own food. well, that's what he's assuming, anyway. it's what he'll be acting on as he takes a few steps over, and while his voice isn't exactly scolding, it's a little bit tired when he speaks up. )
The cats have enough food. They don't need yours, too.
( she's seen the cats around, sure — but considering the black one scratched her up pretty bad recently, she's not very eager to approach them for no reason. no, this is far from a cat — you could argue it's far worse, but for her, with her current cat-aversion, that's not the case? anyway, the moment norton approaches, she'll turn her head around to him and offer him a huge smile, bringing her hand up to expose... )

( the big ol' grin she shows him, at least, is nice—she had seemed pretty torn up the other day over, well, everything, he supposes. to see her in a brighter mood now? that's a bit of a relief. he returns a warm smile of his own, and you know what... it's ugly, because something like that really does have him lower his guard. he came in here innocently assuming maybe rika, for once in her life, was acting like a normal person. when she holds out an actual real life fucking rat with her bare-ass hands, though, that is immediately... okay. okay, maybe it was his bad for assuming anything about this girl was normal.

he looks doubly unimpressed when the little fucker hisses at him, norton's brows furrowing in an expression that falls somewhere between troubled, and... well, he doesn't quite know how to take this, honestly. probably looks as confused as he is. he could be diplomatic about this if he felt the need, but then again, he's not sure how effective diplomacy is with feral animals like rika. it only takes him a moment's consideration to decide. )
( and she promptly brings the hands holding onto the fat rat back to her chest, protecting him from norton's devious reach. what the hell? you can't just... reach for a girl's rat and grab it like that... degenerate... )

( lets be fair, you're also not supposed to reach for any random feral rat and just grab it in the first place... rika. that said, when she puts it there, he's not going to like, make a grab in the direction of her chest. he's not an actual degenerate. so he retreats, but he looks really unhappy about it! grimacing and all, even as she perches it on her shoulder. )
